Richard Gazzola has been practising law with SmithValeriote for over 35 years. He has appeared before all levels of Ontario courts and a variety of boards and tribunals. Richard is also a certified family mediator, and has extensive experience in real estate, land development, and estate planning. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with engineering experience in the construction and manufacturing industries.

Richard holds both a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor. He was called to the bar in 1974.

Richard is a member of the Ontario Professional Engineers Association, Criminal Lawyer Association, Canadian Italian Advocates Organization, Wellington County Law Association, the Insurance Institute of Ontario, and Law Society of Upper Canada.

Richard, his wife Jean, their four children and nine grandchildren all reside in Guelph and are highly involved in the local community. His community involvement includes membership in the Belwood Sailing Club, Italian Canadian Club and Holy Rosary Parish. Richard was a former Wellington County Catholic District School Board Trustee for over 40 years, former Italian Vice Consul in Guelph, Minor Hockey Referee and Minor Baseball Coach. Richard is an avid gardener, bee keeper and has a strong love for his Italian culture.
