Nicola holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of East Anglia in the UK and attended the College of Law in Guildford where she ranked in the top 5% of students passing the Solicitors’ Finals Examinations. Nicola qualified as a Solicitor in the UK in 1994 and worked in private practice for four years before moving to Lotus Cars International Ltd. as in house Counsel. While there, Nicola was seconded onto the Change Management team and helped to implement a major strategic change program that was largely responsible for the Company’s turnaround in the year 2000. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2009 and she has joined SmithValeriote after having articled with a firm in Kitchener.
Nicola maintains an active solicitor’s practice including business law, employment law, real estate and wills and estates where she applies her extensive UK experience to her Ontario practice.
Nicola is a resident of Cambridge and is very active in the communities of Guelph and Cambridge; serving on the Campaign Cabinet of the United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries and also on the Board of Directors of the Child Witness Centre. Outside of work Nicola enjoys running, snowboarding and home renovating.
