Lisa Gazzola is a partner at SmithValeriote Law Firm LLP.  She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Administrative and Commercial Studies) from the University of Western Ontario.  Lisa has been practicing law since 1994 and also is a registered trade-mark agent.

Lisa practices in the area of corporate/commercial law, including setting up new businesses, reviewing and drafting shareholders agreements, corporate reorganizations, share/asset purchase transactions, financing, as well as drafting various types of contracts.  She represents private corporations, including those governed by the Canada Business Corporations Act (Canada) and the Business Corporations Act (Ontario). 

She is also engaged in estate and succession planning for both her corporate and individual clients which includes preparing wills, powers of attorney, creating trusts, corporate reorganizations and estate administration.

Lisa advises on intellectual property matters including trade-mark and copyright law.  She is a registered trade-mark agent, filing and prosecuting trade-mark applications in Canada.          

Lisa’s practice also includes buying and selling residential and commercial real estate, leasing, land development and condominium development.

Outside of the office Lisa enjoys playing a variety of sports and is an avid runner.  She also is involved in the community as a director on the Guelph Chamber of Commerce board, she volunteers at the Guelph Enterprise Business Centre where she lectures and advises entrepreneurs, and is a member of the Guelph Chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women. Lisa recently completed a 9 year term as a Board Member of the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph, where she also chaired the Planned Giving Committee.
